Between 10 am – 12 noon on Friday, November 15 ,2013 around 2,500 refugees from Tacloban City, Leyte will arrive in Lapu-Lapu City on board LLC 551, a Philippine naval ship.
The navy vessel will be docked at the Naval Forces Center port in barangay Looc, Lapu-Lapu City.
Upon arrival, refugees will receive the necessary relief that can be given by the city with the help of certain organizations.
Lions Club – Cebu has committed to feed the refugees on their arrival in Lapu-lapu City. Refugees can receive packs of relief goods from GMA Kapuso Foundation.
Moreover, medical professionals will be on standby to provide medical relief for refugees especially those with health concerns.
Lapu-Lapu City will accommodate around 1,000 refugees. Others will be brought to Cebu City on board five Kaoshung buses.
For refugees staying in Lapu-lapu City, the local government have four designated evacuation sites to temporarily shelter them. These sites are in barangays Gun-ob, Looc and Babag,
