BREAKING: Cebu City prepares for super typhoon Yolanda

The Cebu City Government has implemented preemptive measures in a bid to achieve zero casualties as super typhoon Yolanda enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility midnight, Thursday, Nov. 7 and is expected to hit the entire Central Visayas on Friday.

Residents of Cebu City living near river banks, coastal and low-lying areas are urged to evacuate as early as today, Nov. 7.

Those with houses made of light materials are also likewise advised to take necessary actions.

Evacuation centers in Cebu City include schools, barangay halls, sturdy buildings and areas with large spaces.

A command conference was held in Cebu City Hall this afternoon at 2 PM.
