Lapu-Lapu City mayor orders preemptive evacuation along coastal barangays.
This after Alfredo F. Quiblat, Jr. officer in charge of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical Services Administration (PAGASA) at Mactan told officials of the city that Haiyan (Yolanda) is a super  typhoon stronger than typhoon Mike (Ruping) in November 10-14, 1990.

Yolanda’s wind speed is forecasted to reach 250 kilometers per hour (kph) while Ruping packed 205 kph winds killing over 700 people.
Super typhoon Yolanda is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR)  tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 7, at around 8 a.m. and make land fall on Nov. 8, Friday in Eastern Visayas.
