Super typhoon Yolanda has slightly accelerated and has maintained its strength, according to PAGASA. As of 4:00 pm, the location of its centre is at 637 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur with maximum sustained winds of 215 kph near the centre and gustiness of up to 250 kph.
According to PAGASA Visayas Director Oscar Tabada, Cebu will start to feel gusty winds at 1:00 am on Friday and thunderstorms will be expected at 5:00 to 6:00 am in the morning. Typhoon Yolanda will make its landfall on Cebu at around 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
PAGASA raised Cebu’s storm warning signal to number 3 together with Northern Samar, Masbate and Bantayan Island, while Eastern Samar, Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, and Biliran Island was raised into storm warning signal number 4. Here is the complete list:
Signal No. 4 with winds of more than 185 kph may be expected in at least 12 hours in Eastern Samar, Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, and Biliran island;
Signal No.3 with winds ranging 100 to 185 kph may be expected in at least 18 hours in Northern Samar, Masbate, Northern Cebu, Cebu City, Bantayan Island, Siargao Island, and Dinagat Province;
Signal No. 2 with winds ranging 60 to 100 kph may be expected in at least 24 hours in Romblon, Sorsogon, Albay, Burias Island, Bohol, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Aklan, Capiz, Antique, and the rest of Cebu, Iloilo, Guimaras, Camiguin, Surigao Del Norte, Surigao Del Sur, Agusan Del Norte;
Signal No. 1 with winds ranging 30 to 60 kph may be expected in at least 36 hours in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur ,Catanduanes ,Mindoro Provinces, Marinduque, Northern Palawan, Calamian Group of Island, Southern Quezon, Siquijor, Misamis Oriental, and Agusan del Sur.
Coastguard Cebu has suspended sea vessels from traveling out of Cebuuntil November 8.
The stranded passengers went to Cebu City Hall and were given help by Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama.
Meanwhile, Mactan Cebu International Airport has yet to release an official statement tomorrow on flight cancellation, while Cebu Pacific Air has released a list of cancelled flights in their website which can be found here.
