Gilas failed to reach the next round of 2014 FIBA.

Don’t be sad… We still got a chance in the next FIBA. It’s small, but we really have.

That is, according to business tycoon .

MVP said that he have made a strong pitch that the Philippines would like to host the 2019 World Cup. MVP is the President of SBP or Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas. SBP represents the country in the Federation of International Basketball Association (FIBA).

With MVP in the board, the Philippines will have a powerful voice when deliberations for the hosting bids start.

If PH wins the bid, which basketball arenas are chosen to host the event?

According to an SBP official here are some:

Mall of Asia Arena

Smart Araneta Coliseum

Philsports Arena

Philippine Arena in Bulacan (the arena built by INC)

Finally, the yet-to-be-completed in Cebu developed by SM

Our chance may not be that high, but hey, it’s a start!
