Japan and Cebu team up for a long term project that will expand the latter’s manufacturing companies to the former, which in turn will create more jobs and help the people enhance their lives.
The Cebu Provincial Government forms a partnership with Saitama Prefectural Government of Saitama, Japan to provide job and education opportunities to the people of Cebu province.
Masuda Fumiyaki, Associate Director of the Department of Public Services of Saitama Prefectural Geovernment, went to Governor Hilario Davide’s and paid a courtesy call.
Various training about Japan’s standards on manufacturing and human resources will be made available for the students of Cebu Province.
Two hundred lucky students will be selected and given a year of internship in the land of the rising sun!
The said project will start in the first quarter of next year.
This project is made possible by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Saitama Prefectural Government.
The University of San Jose-Recoletos, headed by Atty. Jonathan Capanas (Dean of Collgege of Law) and Dr. Virgilio Abellana (Dean of College of Engineering) in cooperation of the Province of Cebu are the organizers of this project.
This long term initiative will help increase the employment rate of the province.
Masada Fumiyuki shared his good ideas for Cebu Province and Governor Davide gave him his full support.
Aside from Fumiyuki, Nobuyuki Kono (representative from the private sector), Akiko Tanaka (Toyo University Research Support Section Deputy Director), Yoshikazo Yoshida (Toyo University), and Tsuyoshi Mikami (Prefectural Government Manager of International Relations Division) were part of the Japan delegation.
I am very happy that this project will start very soon. What can you say about this initiative?
