Katkat, katkats everywhere.

Cebuano artists organized a one-night group art exhibit for the benefit of the typhoon victims on Dec. 5, 2013. ArTabang, the name of the exhibit, will showcase over 200 paintings of over 100 artists in the country.

Aside from the local artists in Cebu who will be joining the said event, artists coming from Bacolod and Manila will be coming also. Notable figures in the art industry will also be joining the said exhibit, such as Fil Delacruz, Lydia Velasco, Angel Cacnio, and Fidel Sarmiento (who is donating 10 pieces of his work).

Aside from the exhibit paintings, which will be sold 50% less the market price, three paintings will be auctioned. The proceeds will all go to the survivors of super typhoon Yolanda. Also, the families of the artists will personally pack the relief goods.

Below is an interview with Romulo “Molong” Galicano who conceptualized the group art exhibit. He is from Carcar and is now based in Manila. He is a well-respected visual artist in the country.
