A bus belonging to the Don Mariano transit fell down on a van, which killed 22 passengers and leaving 20 seriously injured.
According to the initial investigation of the Highway Patrol Group, the bus was headed south from Metro Manila to Pacita, Laguna. As it sped on the downward section of the high-speed elevated highway, it “skidded and rammed through the safety railing” which fell on the van, 20 feet below.
The 20 dead person are from the bus, while the other 2 are from the van. The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board suspended the operations of the remaining 78 buses, while the driver has to undergo a drug test.
