WEF’s Global Gender Gap Report 2014 states the persisting gender gap across the whole world. The report is based on 9 years of data available in 111 countries.

The report takes into account the gap for economic participation, health & survival, educational attainment and political empowerment.

So which countries tops the gender equality rankings?

Curiously, the top five are Nordic countries:

1. Iceland

2. Finland

3. Norway

4. Sweden

5. Denmark

6. Nicaragua

7. Rwanda

8. Ireland

9. Philippines

10. Belgium

The Philippines is the only Asian country to be on the top 10 rankings, making us first in gender equality in Asia. We’re even way ahead of the U.S.!
