Cebu, Philippines – How do we use digital tools to solve our greatest challenges and plan for a brighter future by 2030? This is the question that will be answered during the Social Good Summit Cebu 2013 happening on Sept. 27, 2013, Friday at the main campus of the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R).
The Social Good Summit Cebu 2013 is the local version of the Social Good Summit, an annual global event wherein industry leaders and experts converge to share ideas and solutions for certain concerns and issues. The main event in New York City is organized primarily by Mashable and the United Nations Foundation.
In 2012, the Social Good Summit Cebu brought an impact with the #ACTNow campaign spearheaded by the Cebu Bloggers Society, Inc.The global event last year left a high social media footprint with large number of impressions from Twitter, Facebook and Google+.
This year, the Summit here in Cebu will start at 9 a.m. and end at 12 p.m. at USJ-R’s Center for Performing Arts, wherein industry leaders and influencers from Cebu and the Philippines will address the same question and impart ideas and stories to inspire more people for the better use of social media and the digital technologies.
Themed “Responsible Use of Social Media and Technologies for Social Good,” the Social Good Summit Cebu 2013 is an opportune event for more people especially Cebuanos to be more aware of using social media and to learn the ways in using the platform and the digital tools to address community issues.
Thinking ahead to 2030, the Summit will highlight the social concerns and bring to light the required solutions to certain challenges.
